This will not work with XP Tablet 2005. It will not ask for the second CD that has the tablet extras included, so you basically get XP Pro

This is by far the most comprehensive page on the net describing the process of inserting SATA drivers to XP cd. I tried a dozen WinXP versions (SP2 integrated, etc), had no luck, till i stumbled upon this page. Well done, and thank you.

First you need to create a new copy of XP with sata drivers, how it’s explained here, and then boot with this copy of XP.

I just purchased a HP notebook preinstalled with Vista. I would like reload XP on this machine. My question is:
Do I first load Windows XP on my newly formatted harddrive and then load the XP drivers for my SATA HD, or do I first load the XP dirvers for my SATA HD and then load windows XP?

Your help is much appreciated.

Encountered the same problem with SATA on a Dell desktop. After playing (unsucessfully) with nlite, I got lucky by simply using a Windows XP CD which had SP2 integrated.
